주변의 다른 무수한 삶을 이해하고 느끼고 싶다. 내 자신의 삶을 진지하게 바라보듯 그들의 삶도 소중하게 생각한다. 그 방법이 곧 나의 작품세계인 샘이다.

내 작업에는 다양한 이미지들이 등장한다. 사람, 동물, 새, 풀, 꽃 그리고 알 수 없는 기호들.. 그들은 저마다 독립적인 생명력을 가지고 있으며 서로 보이지 않는 끈으로 연결되어 있다. 그 중 새는 내가 즐겨 그리는 소재이다. 그러한 새들은 대부분 여러 동작과 소리로 그들 자신을 한 층 돋보이게 하고 있다. 때로는 충만한 생명력으로…때로는 어떤 사물을 관조 하듯이…때로는 무엇을 응시하는 것처럼 각기 다른 모습으로 보여 진다. 표면에 있어서는 선에 의한 묘사를 추구한다. 그것은 즉흥적이며 조화로운 느낌으로 나타난다.

I seek to understand and connect with the countless lives that surround me. Just as I look closely and seriously at my own life, I regard the lives of others with equal care. This way of seeing and engaging with the world lies at the heart of my practice.

My work brings together a diverse range of imagery—people, animals, birds, grasses, flowers, and enigmatic signs. Each possesses an independent vitality, while remaining connected to the others through invisible threads.

Birds, in particular, recur throughout my work. Through varied gestures and calls, they assert their presence: at times animated by an abundant sense of life; at others, quietly contemplative; and elsewhere, appearing to gaze intently at something beyond the picture plane. Each inhabits the work in its own distinct way.

Across the surface, I favor a linear mode of expression. The lines emerge intuitively, creating a sense of spontaneity and harmony.
